Microdose Therapy for Fibromyalgia, Arthritis & More

Living with chronic pain is a fate that no one deserves. Unfortunately, many of the treatments used to manage chronic pain diseases have side effects that can be just as disruptive and debilitating as the pain itself. In our Microdose Therapy, The Helen Foundation has found a solution that provides relief without a tradeoff of adverse effects.

Our founder, Dr. Virgil Stenberg, spent years searching for a way to help his wife, Helen, escape the pain of her rheumatoid arthritis. Through his research, he discovered that in small microdoses, hydrocortisone could offer symptom and pain relief with minimal unwanted side effects.

“We, the people with inflammatory diseases like arthritis, dream of a pill that will strip us of pain. Next, we dream it will do no harm. My husband’s treatment did both. I was finally freed from my prison of pain from which there was no escape.”

– Helen Stenberg

Microdose Therapy—Natural Treatments for Chronic Inflammatory Diseases

As he studied arthritis, Dr. Stenberg found that inflammatory diseases—such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and so on—evolve from short-term, beneficial inflammation lasting too long. Chronic inflammation signals a weakening of the body’s hydrocortisone production during stressful times. Hydrocortisone is the hormone that controls inflammation.

The solution, he determined, is to teach patients to supplement the body’s decreasing hydrocortisone production with hydrocortisone tablets. When taken only as needed within the maximum safe use limit, side effects can be avoided. Then, people with inflammatory diseases lose most or all pain, fatigue, and stiffness within the first few weeks of treatment. This treatment plan of a small amount of hydrocortisone as needed has become known as MIcrodose Therapy.

In a double-blind clinical trial completed by the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine, our treatment produced superior results. The trial was independently repeated by the University of Alexandria School of Medicin, confirming the UND results. The Helen Foundation also sponsored a clinical study that concluded Microdose Therapy solves all inflammatory diseases when tested in 2,428 patients with 38 inflammatory diseases.
